I am not the public resolution type but there is lot of evidence which shows that you have better odds of success if you build in public.
Choosing resolution and sticking to them is often a play between reason and passion. Let me use a passage from my favourite author who says “you too should rest in reason and move in passion“
And the priestess spoke again and said: Speak to us of Reason and Passion.
And he answered, saying:
Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgement wage war against your passion and your appetite.
Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.
If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.
For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.
On Reason and Passion - Kahlil Gibran (1883 –1931)

During the Week, I attended Public Policy Dialogues (PPD) organised by Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB Hyderabad.
PPD delved into the dynamic global landscape shaped by the pandemic, climate action, and social justice. Amid India's multifaceted story of opportunities and challenges, the event emerged as a pivotal platform for dialogue and action. Recognizing the collective responsibility for global human development, the event aimed to influence policy, foster innovation, and catalyze change. The Public Policy Dialogues were positioned not just as an academic exercise but a call to action, uniting diverse voices to shape a future of progress, equality, and justice.
It is also time to reflect on global resolutions for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which aim to unite nations in collective pursuit of a better world. Governments worldwide commit to eradicating poverty, ensuring quality education, and combating climate change. These resolutions reflect a shared responsibility to address global challenges, emphasizing cooperation, innovation, and inclusivity. Each resolution underscores the interconnectedness of global issues, highlighting the imperative for collaborative solutions on a scale that transcends borders.
As an individual , if you are embarking on a transformative journey, the RESOLVE framework can help you to harnesses the power of digital platforms to fortify your life resolutions. From self-reflection to strategic planning, this acronym encapsulates tools that inspire, organize, and propel personal growth. Let's delve into each letter and unlock the potential of these platforms to enrich your journey of self-improvement and achievement.
R - Reflect: Utilize journaling apps like Day One to foster a habit of self-reflection, offering prompts and features that facilitate introspection.
E - Envision: Platforms like Pinterest enable the creation of digital vision boards, providing a space to curate images, quotes, and ideas that represent your goals and aspirations.
S - Strategize: Leverage project management tools such as Asana, aiding in strategic planning by breaking down goals into actionable tasks and tracking progress collaboratively.
O - Organize: Apps like Todoist serve as effective tools for organizing tasks, setting deadlines, and managing priorities to ensure a systematic approach to your resolutions.
L - Learn: Engage with online learning platforms like Coursera, accessing a vast array of courses to acquire new skills and knowledge, supporting your personal and professional growth.
V - Visualize: Employ mind mapping tools such as XMind to visually represent your goals, creating interconnected diagrams that enhance understanding and brainstorming.
E - Engage: Utilize social media platforms like WhatsApp or Facebook groups to engage with communities aligned with your resolutions, providing a space for shared experiences, advice, and encouragement.
Whether in personal or professional development, we can take advantage of ideas embedded in RESOLVE. These digital instruments aren't mere utilities; they could be strategic accomplices in our pursuit of self-mastery. Your resolutions need not be mere pledges; they could be more through fusion of determination and technology. With RESOLVE as your compass, chart your “True North”, create your narrative, and let the digital platforms be the canvas upon which your most profound life resolutions unfold.

Over the Weekend, my running group organised the volunteers’ run for the PBEL City Hyderabad Winter Half 2023 volunteers. It is gratitude for the runner/volunteers for sacrificing their own run to help their fellow runners from the community and across Hyderabad. Our running group is completely volunteers based and every year about 80 volunteers work hard and passionately to cheer and support about 800 plus runners achieve their running dreams. The volunteer run was supported by the latest addition to our running group from the active winter program conducted over Oct-Dec 2023.
Being part of the running group keeps you motivated and adds additional support to your running goals. Run. Spread the Spirit.
I also used the weekend to finally finish watching “12th Fail” and Annapoorani- The Goddess of Food starring Lady Superstar Nayanthara.
Both movies share stories of overcoming obstacles or disabilities that you may face in pursuit of your dreams. Nayanthara playing Annapoorani an aspiring Chef overcomes traditional and modern challenges in career where women see hitting the glass ceilings in many professions.
Of course, 12th Fail is closer to reality as it is based on life and struggles of now IPS officer, Manoj Kumar Sharma.
Both movies bring home the #ReStart theme thereby constantly reminding that any failure is just another window of opportunity. Perhaps, we are made for bigger things.
I Love You.
