I have often discussed about the power of “optionality”- limited downside but potentially unlimited upside. Platforms can help us create optionality in career trajectory through learning and networking opportunities. They can provide small wins which compound to large impact in career and life.
Platforms can potentially help the aspirants solve the long tail problem of matching rare careers to equally rare opportunities.
Platforms have transformed the world of work. I have written about Blue Collar Worker, Creative Class and Work Life Balance in previous editions. Do check them out.

During the Week, Microsoft announced a new use case for Azure OpenAI Service in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz to create a better in-car voice control. Through this integration, drivers can opt into a beta program that makes the MBUX Voice Assistant’s “Hey Mercedes” feature even more intuitive and conversational. Open AI and Microsoft are clearly looking at creating smaller use cases for their LLM thus creating an enabling network effect which might lead to faster adoption and scaling of their AI platform.

Over the Weekend, I was part of three exciting events which were treat for mind, body and soul. They are again the story of small wins which compound to big impact over a period of time. We ALWAYS underestimate the impact of small wins and hence end up making no efforts towards them. But like life/marathon, everything starts with the single step.
On Saturday, as part of IBS Hyderabad Dialogues initiative by Club Speak Up, we at the Alumni Relations Cell were able to invite MBA Batch of 2012 to come to our campus and have an interaction with the students. As we sat on the stairs in an informal set up, we realised the bonds are still strong and alumni stories could be the input which could create a difference in lives of our current students. Looking forward to many more such stair-side chats.
Sundays are usually the long run days and at PeeramCheruvu Runners, we are proud of our volunteers who are always ready to offer their support for scheduled long runs of Hyderabad Runners. It was great fun to catch up with fellow runners across the city and share our stories.
Sunday evening was spent at Indian School of Business listening to an interesting discussion between Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, Founding Dean, Indian School of Business; and Founder and Chairman, Harappa Education and current ISB Dean Madan Pillutla.
This discussion was primarily centred on launch of the book ‘Learn, Don’t Study’ by Dr Pramath Raj Sinha who shared interesting insights about career discovery process including looking at failures as a possible dot to be connected later in a life.
Find Your True North everyday. It compounds well.
