During the Week, I was part of the concluding session and reception of recent engagement for an innovative corporate skills-based volunteering by Pyxera Global.
This engagement with Fedex as part of FedEx’s EXCEL program, a nine-month leadership training program for 20 of the company’s rising executive talents facilitates a “Global Perspectives” module. The two-week program introduces the cohort to FedEx operations in one of the company’s growth regions and applies their skills and expertise to a challenge presented by a local organization through an operational assessment.
One of the team from Fedex Excel program worked with TRICE to develop an Operational plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the business objectives and help track the Orbit's performance in various areas, such as customer acquisition, advertising effectiveness, delivery efficiency, and revenue generation to ensure the success of Trice Orbit.
Trice Orbit is a new idea within Trice that will have several custom-built EV vehicles that orbit around the city, delivering products on demand to large gated communities. It features a vertical 4K video screen for advertisements, an illuminated product display, speakers, wireless mics, and live GPS tracking.
I am extremely proud of my students who worked as project assistants with the four host organisations in Hyderabad. They skillfully served as the crucial link between PYXERA Global, corporate consultants, and local partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Their commitment to excellence was evident in their proactive participation in meetings and their ability to conduct extensive research and data analysis to provide valuable guidance. They also excelled in logistics management, efficiently coordinating corporate volunteers' travel and overseeing key events.
Through their project assistantships, these students have made a significant contribution in creating aa culture of giving back to the society at large.
Best wishes to Cyma, Lijul, Rajit, and Virrika for their future endeavours.
We could look at the whole idea of giving back to society through the lens of “GIVING” as an acronym for the role of platforms in volunteerism and social impact:
G - Global Reach: Online platforms for volunteerism have a global reach, connecting individuals from different corners of the world to meaningful causes. This global reach allows volunteers to contribute to various causes and connect with diverse communities worldwide.
I - Increased Accessibility: These platforms increase accessibility to volunteer opportunities. They break down geographical barriers, enabling individuals to volunteer remotely or locally. As a result, volunteering becomes more inclusive and flexible, allowing people with diverse circumstances to participate.
V - Versatility: Online volunteering platforms offer versatility in the types of opportunities available. They provide a wide range of roles, from virtual volunteering that can be done from home to on-the-ground projects. This versatility caters to the varied skills and preferences of potential volunteers.
I - Impact Measurement: These platforms allow for the measurement of the impact volunteers create. They often provide tools and metrics to track progress, assess the outcomes of volunteer work, and demonstrate the value of contributions. This data-driven approach enhances transparency and accountability.
N - Networking: Volunteer platforms facilitate networking among volunteers, organizations, and the beneficiaries of volunteer efforts. Volunteers can connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build a supportive community. Networking fosters collaboration and shared learning.
G - Giving Back: Ultimately, these platforms empower individuals to give back to society. They make it easier for people to find and engage with causes they care about. By providing a platform for giving back, they encourage social responsibility and allow individuals to make a positive impact on the world around them.
To conclude, as the festival season continues, embrace the spirit of charity and giving back to the society. Digital platforms provide Global Reach, connecting people around the world for a common cause. They offer Increased Accessibility to volunteer opportunities, making giving back convenient for all. The Versatility of roles ensures that you can contribute in a way that suits your skills and schedule. With tools for Impact Measurement, you can see the real change you're making. Networking brings you closer to like-minded individuals and organizations, fostering a sense of community. Ultimately, these platforms make it easy for everyone to engage in Giving Back, spreading joy and goodwill this festive season.

Great work by Team Club ADmire (The Official Advertising and Branding Club of IBS Hyderabad) who put up a fascinating show. Thanks to the our alumni of returning to csmpus and giving back to the their alma-mater. We all are very proud of you.
To conclude, here is my favourite poet-philosopher Kahlil Gibran on Giving
Then said a rich man, Speak to us of Giving.
And he answered:
You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
I Love You
