Excellent work sir, for once again showing a new way how Moats are affecting our day-to-day life. It still feels fresh. Thanks for brushing our concept.

It would nice to introspect if we could also create our own moats in career and life.

Platforms take advantage of both same-side (Whatsapp) and cross side (Google) network effects.

Enriching post sir! Indeed moats help platform businesses to differentiate themselves from their competitors, especially via network and cost effects hence improving their customer experience in the due process.

We would discuss other two moats related to culture and resources in subsequent issue.

Thank you for writing such an insightful newsletter, sir! It can actually be concluded from here that how difficult moats can make it for the competitors to replicate our products or services, as you mentioned in the case of Amazon. It nullifies the prospects of future competition and might also help an organization to dominate industries and economies.

Moats make your organisations safe from enemy attacks and also give you a safe harbour to launch attacks on weaker competitors. Amazon has built tremendous moats and has almost become unassailable in its own turf.

Thank you for the newsletter sir, earlier last week I was discussing with my grandfather who has developed a platform that helps the agricultural-based industries to monitor and plan their supplies from real-time data. The product has attracted many related sector industries and has even attracted lots of funds but the problem he is facing is to scale up the product. Do you suggest anything for scaling up the usage of this platform which in fact is one of its kind in the current market.

Do share basic concept note on the agricultural platform. I have written about agri-platforms earlier in https://shailendrabisht.substack.com/p/platforms-and-food-part-1 and https://shailendrabisht.substack.com/p/platforms-r-us

Please let me know how we could discuss it more.

Insightful information sir. Thank you for enriching us about the importance of moats to grow exponentially with a competitive advantage, cost advantage and to create a non-replicable ecosystem.

Such an interesting read, Sir! Do you think, the current "vocal for local" sentiment might help overcome some of these entry barriers for home grown brands? If not much, I think it might help create a sense of intrigue among users leading them to probably sign up (not sure though if it'll translate to a solid engaged user base). For example; I heard an interesting review of the platform "Koo" wherein people did end up downloading it because of the celebrity promotions & the somewhat political push around it, however, it couldn't hold there interest for long as it was indeed, awfully quite! :D Will be interesting to see how it does in the time to come.

Koo and many other homegrown platforms across the world are very interesting case studies. They have other moats specially related to regulation and culture. Would be discussing more on these moats in the forthcoming newsletter.

The most frequent macronutrients used for this purpose are carbs and proteins, both of which can be found in both plant and animal foods. One serving of these supplements might have anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand calories.
