I think this pause has made me do so many things. Sometimes I wonder am I taking it so hard and trying utilizing all the time to grow the community (JaipurCreativeCommune) as this is the time when people are thinking all about pursuing their passion. I certainly see the increase in followers and traction but I also feel that with so many live sessions happening it's getting hard to keep people connected for the whole session. I think getting the attention will always be a task to work on :)
Attention is the new oil ! But do you want to get it from a million unengaged audience or ten engaged ones is the central question in the Passion Economy ! Perhaps hundred of your most avid fans can make it worthwhile !
Great insights, i have been reading your blog for quite some time now and it is always knowledgeable, everyone is talking about social distancing, work from home being a new norm but what i feel we are following it because its compulsory and we have no other option and its in the trend , we follow trends most sincerely then anything else but once the lockdown is over, it will be hard to follow, whats your take on it sir ?
It might be in the interest of various businesses to focus on social distancing and maintaining hygiene at their premises. Any incident whether real or perceived would be extremely bad PR and may also attract regulatory attention.
I think the challenge lies in converting marketing spends into actionable points from a branding and cross sell standpoint, for most businesses like banking. With customer acquisition temporarily stopped, bigger brands are desperately trying to leverage cross sell and branding campaigns in lieu of offers or product features in their communication, to meet P&L targets via spends/interest income/x-sell revenue. This in turn, needs a better understanding of consumer behaviour during/post lockdown. Asian paints has done this brilliantly in their new ad campaign, which went viral and was also covered in newspapers recently. 🙂
The relevance of the title "Enjoy The Great Pause" connects directly to the audience sitting on the couch or at the corner of the room with their small desk which is a newly designated office space . The industries across is witnessing a paradigm shift where I see along with the social distancing coming to practice the skill and will of the workforce will play a pivotal role in determining the future success. We are out of our comfort zone(ironically though we are restricted in our own homes) trying to adapt to the new era of post Covid 19. Industries would be ruthless in eliminating the bad costs like fancy offices, bad performers and many unwanted expenses. The world will witness new rise for the in home entertainment, fitness and the co working spaces. Time to get away with the old shell and look at sustainable and new ways of reaching, treating and engaging your customers. A classic test of time of true leadership.
Thanks a lot for adding on to my knowledge. You have explained everything in simple yet a beautiful way. I will surely try to explore more about passion economy and how different they are from other economies in the world.

Well Said. Once you acquire a customer, it would be a shame to not to make her an advocate of your brand by providing an entire portfolio experience.

Crisis like this show the real leadership. Leaders would need more connect and foresight to lead their teams to a glorious future.
