Another great piece Sir, can't deny the highlight of this post is Milind Suman unfortunately haha.
Coming back, over continuous class room discussions which were held across different courses of MBA, this is definitely a reminder that these discussions should not be limited to just classrooms.Everyone needs to start questioning the cost of convenience, are we willing to get incessant notifications and emails on flight tickets and hotels for a holiday trip which was remotely even searched on Google? or are we willing to fall in for the scare of social oblivion because whatsapp suggests so? Surprisingly if I think of it corona virus sounds like a good marketing gimmick for all these social platforms, best way to say stay indoors don't meet anyone and use our platforms as your only social means of communication.
Thanks for bringing the discussion back Sir. Felt like back to LTs and CRs.
I have always been a proponent of secondary brand associations and what better for poor college faculty then to leverage on the charisma of Milind Soman to draw some intrigued readers.
I am glad that you brought up the convenience vs privacy debate which definitely calls for more deliberations than what is happening today.
We are talking same stuff - willingly or unknowingly we are feeding into datapools and getting manipulated by tech – firms. Even more alarming is the building partnerships between big tech and big fin and big pharma…..means data hegemonies and data-lords!!
A nice read!!!Besides the user data on which there is a lot of data mining being done and sold to giants, political parties etc there is another fact that I read: Facebook has a powerful and accurate artificial intelligence-based facial recognition system. It is one of the most sophisticated and most accurate systems of its kind on the planet. It has the ability to pick out human faces in digital images. It has a neural net nine layers deep. That’s why we get recommendations while tagging pictures! The system is supposedly 97 percent accurate. This is better than the 85 percent accuracy rate of the FBI’s Next GEN identification system.
So insightful this is, Sir.
Your writings become an information bank for me. Waiting for your next piece.
Happy reading:)
Always glad to initiate an interesting discussion.
Thanks Sir for the mention. Truly appreciate it.
Continue the good work !

Nice one! Thanks for bringing the debate out of intellectual circle, we need to involve citizens to find a way out.
