Sad to hear about the loss, Sir. Hope you are doing OK :)

I would love to know about your experience with Mindmate. Thinking of ordering it for myself and further gifting it to dear ones.

You talked about 2 significant changes -

One was beneficial with the payment gateway that directly connects the artist and the fan. And second ad supported business models taking a hit because of Apple's new tracking update.

IMO, there is another thing that could hamper the growth of these artists irrespective of these technological updates/interventions. The trends. I feel that it's hampering creativity, imagination and variety.

Yes, the Instagram Algorithm works in a way that supports trends but it's a still a loss in the long run. How long could a person watch different people do the same thing? How many times? Do we not need different content? How are the creators coping up with such competition where everyone is absolutely doing the same thing?

I follow a few educational/informative content creators (mostly dealing with finance and areas around) and it's kind of sad to see them use these trends to give out information and use the trending songs as background music to blow up their reals, all because of the algorithm.

What do you think?

For the foreseeable future, the art community, like many others, would be forced to migrate online. Many who are surviving the pandemic all have one thing in common: they are digital natives. One of the most significant advantages of going online is that it introduces you to new markets and, as a result, new collectors. Another advantage of doing business online is Analytics that gives deeper insights.

And if we talk about monetization for artists, one of the platforms that I have vividly heard is Patreon, a very popular crowdfunding website. While it is a well-developed platform with several resources to assist creators, there are no ways to promote an artist's account across the platform. The site takes a 5% share of all the money artists earn (once a month). International payment companies such as PayPal and Stripe also have payment plugins that one can use on their website. It's an unobtrusive way to ask ones followers for donations.

Online, things aren’t much easier. There are more than a dozen websites that claim to offer artists the opportunity to sell their works directly to buyers. But Twitter coming up with this initiative to pay the artists is commendable as finding a trustable platform is not easy. Youtube does provide money based on the subscription and likes to the content creators but there are so many who are not present on this platform. Whereas, working in Trice I have noticed that how they are more into appreciating the efforts of their people and provide them a platform to encourage each other. For their help, they are also into models that can bring more changes and space to such appreciation blogs and posts.

"Tip jar" feature to pay to your favorite personalities? Sounds much like YouTube super chat feature while live streaming. Even though the algorithms on these platforms are a little messed up but at the end these are all platforms meant for business and profit maximization.

Also, loved the session on VOW, this is truly commendable. I can already see this idea going places!
