Coach, I am awestruck, such in-depth knowledge. I feel like a pauper, my words fail to describe the way you write. I mean I am voraciously grasping your writing.

I am just loving it.

Today, I am wordless.

May be someday I will be able to discuss with you in the level you think.

Coach, it was a lovely piece. 😊

Your concluding paragraph 🙏🏻😊

This read is absolutely delightful. Maybe this women's day let's not just celebrate the existence of a woman in your life, let's just pledge to make it live-able for us with pride and dignity; a place where we don't have to voice ourselves for our basic right. 😊

It is an occasion to start the discussion with people who still have an ostrich like approach to the gender inequality.

I agree to almost all the pointers here (trolls and harassment cases, number of women entrepreneurs or women specific/ driven tech platforms) but not so merrily.

It is disturbing to know that 60 percent of chronically hungry people are women and girls, Women make up more than two-thirds of the world's illiterate people and 1000 women die every day of the consequences of pregnancy and child birth- the basic human needs of food, health and education. Forget about security, employment and social life, that's a far fetched dream.

How often do we talk about something like men specific ? be it a social media platform, business, behaviour or roles in an organisation. Why only we have to create a niche for ourselves? why can't we be a part of the system as much as men and as equally as them? Women are expected to be a certain way, dress in a certain fashion, do a particular job and the list goes on. Ironically, I am expected to even a laugh a certain way because supposedly I am too loud as per the girls standards.

Because we are trolled and harassed we create our own platform, because we face glass ceiling we quit, because it's unsafe at night we go out in day, because the baby at home needs care we give up our careers for which we toiled for years. The bigger question is

how much and for how long are we going to run away from such dismal facts when we ultimately have to live and be a part of the same reality ? Do we have a log out or delete button in real life ? I wish we had one.

The two ways suggested here are definitely in the right direction but the major transformation will come when we snap away the two mental barriers from within-

1.The Pygmalion effect: the phenomenon whereby others' expectations of a target person affect the target person's performance. Women are trying to fit into others expectations and this is high time we realise this and say NO to it.

2.Self-fulfilling prophecy : the socio-psychological phenomenon of someone "predicting" or expecting something, and this “prediction” or expectation comes true simply because one believes it will, and their resulting behaviours align to fulfil those beliefs. We act because we believe and this belief, this self- image, this expectation is what we have invested ourselves into and only we can break away from this image.

Such social media platforms, business, campaigns can definitely facilitate this process of changing the self image/self concept but the real change has to come from within.

I think the real women's day celebration will happen the day we don't have any ministry like women and child development, no platform which is women specific, and no special PM Twitter campaign like #SheInspiresUs.

To all the women out there- This women's day, Let's empower ourselves and make such campaigns a mere testimony to the fact that we aspire and yes we can inspire.

It is a wonderful and thoughtful comment ! I wanted to use this opportunity to bring the various issues in focus as some of us are still ignorant or dismissive of the gaping gender equality in all walks of life. The advent of technology and especially tech-platforms has been hailed as a big leveller but as I point out in the post, it has its own sort of demons to handle.

More power to you.

Yes Sir. I completely chime in with your idea of using technology as a leveller in gender inequality. It has tremendous potential to revolutionise the entire scenario of women around the world. Also, Thank you for this great initiative. Your company is a bliss- whether it is in the class or this newsletter, you always add value to us :)

This article is so well articulated. Overwhelmed to read this on women's day. I strongly believe everyday each individual should play their part and share their responsibility towards bringing awareness about gender inequality because it's not a women's issue. It's an economic issue, a community issue and social issue. There is a long way to go but even people talking about the bias and empowering women in whatever way possible and helping create the space and platform for women to thrive just adds a lot of difference.

Happy women's day to every women out there. Love and power to you all

Feel so fortunate to have access to your work and get inspired with it every single time.

Technology can literally transform the way women lead their lives. And we as millennials in particular, should shoulder the responsibility to educate the under privileged about the relevant existing platforms.

Thank you for such a delightful read.

Eyeing the book you mentioned for my next read 🤩

Thank you so much sir for wishing me on this day

And reading your blog is becoming a Sunday ritual now. And yes i do agree with each and every single words that you penned down. Yes women struggle is real and the day we won't be needing a women's day to remind us this, that would be an achievement.

And for that we need people from all the gender to come together and work for it.

I try to create these spaces in my class and its wonderful to see that ignorance and vigilance regarding the struggles of the gender can come from both male and female. But i feel as an academician its our duty to create such places of discussion.

The last quote from your fav book is my mantra of life in general. And i was so happy to see that you mentioned the same.

Lots of gratitude from my side coming your way!! :)))

I was recently asked in my annual review if I have a problem taking orders or collaborating from/with a lady CEO, I said reason we do not talk much & I get better with the other co-founder who is a man can be anything but not this.

I figured out, that my male counterpart was pro-active in communication and would always take initiatives to track progress or casually discuss work.

Role of women is being acknowledged across the world. And there is a difference in the way how men and women process things. Thus their action plan or remedial steps towards a problem or situation are different. No matter if the lady is a working woman or a house maker, techie or non techie there is a common thread of womanhood which unifies them. I think more than platforms, it will be COMMUNITIES across digital mediums which can be a great networking / resource ground for women.

Great Insight, Jitendra.

"Digital means more empowerment" was the ultimate panacea sold to us but unfortunately it has not been realised till now. Some of the ill-effects of digital are hurting the disenfranchised more than others. We would need more enlightened businesses and communities to make it happen for all of us.

Thank you sir for sharing this space for having authentic sharing. What I really liked in the blog is how platforms and technologies are enabling women to work from home and connect professionally with other women for support. I think if these platforms can create opportunities for meaningful job opportunities for women, it would be really great !

Great writing! In the article you mentioned about how trolls end up ruining anyone's spirit. While that is true, there is no data that these trolls are mostly males or females.. Anyone could be a troll and anyone can get trolled... I don't see how this is a women specific problem.

Please explain what you mean.

Also, eager to read this book you mentioned.

Trolling hurts everybody !

What I meant was the female users on certain women specific issues face even more abusive posts and the language usually hints at the gender of the troller.

I really feel when we are talking about equality, it should be in every aspect. Men & women both get trolled on social media for various reasons. The article is quite interesting, mindset plays a big role while tackling certain things. We have seen people playing equality & woman card- both simultaneously, that's when things go wrong. Saw an article on adweek.com regarding men's only social network by manwell.com. It specifically mentions a network where 'guys can be guys'! It seems to be shut down now, it didn't work. Women's only platforms & forums seem like a fad to me, when we are talking about equality then why there is a need of separate women only communities! I feel the need has been created by few marketers of various fields & we see products & services oriented to this.

Thank you Sir for such insights on women entrepreneurial spirit and women empowerment. Trolls and harrassment are sadly pretty dominant as social media jibe and we as a world still lack in pulling up huge boundary walls to prevent it. Whether women owned platforms will be able to reduce or curb it, seems like a grey area still as right motive and impetus would still lead to a long journey to achieve the goal.

Great write up sir, nice stimulus :)

Rise of gender sensitivity is one of the distinguishing features in the current times. It has taken

hold on the imagination as to what all women are capable of and how well can they excel in so many fields. For all practical purposes, the concern of gender equity has

graduated to a new level in today's world and two perspectives have emerged in the

contemporary discourse on the modalities of gender equity; women’s development and women’s empowerment. The platform can be a good way to have a focused approach on both the perspective of women where we develop the women community by giving them right skills and T&D and also a place to empower them!
